Facing the Truth

Our lives improve only when we take chances - and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves

Soul Escape

Being honest with ourselves is truly one of the most difficult things we must do for real change. I remember my first exposure to this idea. It was a turning point in my life. As hard as it was, it also gave me my power back.

I was free to make my own decisions and not feel like a victim anymore. No one likes to face the “ugly parts” of themselves. It seems easier to project them on to other people.

Blaming other people for our problems takes the responsibility off of us. However it also creates a never ending cycle of disappointment and hopelessness.

When you stop blaming other people for your problems -- or projecting less than positive attributes onto your family, friends and co-workers -- you will open up a whole new world.

No longer will you feel controlled or put off by others. A new sense of compassion and acceptance for yourself and others will start to unfold. A freedom and excitement for life will emerge. You truly do have the power and it starts by being honest with yourself.

This process can be difficult to get started. Facing the truth about ourselves, acknowledging the things that aren’t working and getting some help can feel scary.

I’m here to remind you that it doesn’t have to be scary and you don’t have to go through it alone. If you are ready to be honest with yourself and make the changes necessary to have the life you desire, call or email me today.

Sincerely,

Lori Barnett, HHP
